KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 6 (Bernama) -- Chinese youngster Li Haotong is gunning for a positive result when making his debut at the prestigious CIMB Classic Golf Tournament which will be held for four days starting on Oct 12 at TPC in Bukit Kiara.
The 22-year-old who scored a memorable third finish at the Open Championship in July is vying to emulate the same feat at the CIMB Classic which is the only PGA Tour tournament in the region.
"I'm really excited to have the opportunity to compete in my first CIMB Classic on the PGA Tour. I've heard it is a great tournament and TPC Kuala Lumpur is a wonderful venue with good facilities for the players," Li was quoted as saying in the Asian Tour website www.asiantour.com.
In this regard, Li said the positive result at CIMB Classic would enable him to collect important points in his mission to break into the top 50 in the world rankings.
"With plenty of FedExCup points and Official World Golf Ranking points at stake, it'll be important for me to play well to improve my ranking as it is my goal to break into the world's top-50 by the end of the year.....
