IPOH, Sept 2 (Bernama) -- The Perak Football Association (PAFA) wants a private TV station and a local daily to retract their reports claiming Perak fans were involved in a riot at the State Stadium in Kuching, last Saturday.
PAFA President Datuk Zainol Fadzi Paharuddin said the reports telecast and published recently had tarnished the image of the state, its people and those living in Sarawak.
"Such reports are detrimental to the people of Perak because others will label us as people who like to create problems and cause fights," he told reporters here today.
PAFA would like to reiterate that Perak fans were not involved in the riot because the Football Association of Sarawak did not sell or allocate tickets for Perak fans.
Sarawak had in a statement said tickets would not be sold for Perak fans to ensure their safety and for fear of retaliation by Sarawak fans who were angered by an incident at the Ipoh Stadium, two weeks ago.....
