KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 31 (Bernama) -- The participation of the National team (Harimau Muda A) in the National Premier League (NPL) in Queensland, Australia will be reviewed said the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).
FAM president Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah said the choice of NPL Queensland was decided before he took over the helm from past president, the Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah.
"The decision was made before I became president. We will review Harimau Muda A's involvement in Australia and it is much better if there is an alternative," he said at a media conference after the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) Congress here, Sunday.
"Priority is to expose the players early and as best as possible by playing abroad," he said, adding that the perception of fans on the quality of a league was subjective.
However, he conceded that the participation of the Harimau Muda A squad in leagues abroad was important, especially in terms of building a competitive team.....
