KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 31 (Bernama) -- Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah Sunday officially took over the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) presidency for the 2014-2018 term at the 2014 AHF congress.
Tengku Abdullah was earlier the sole candidate for the post.
Tayyab Ikhram of Macau was appointed AHF chief executive officer (CEO) while Fumio Ogura of Japan is the treasurer.
In a media conference at the end of the AHF congress here today, Tengku Abdullah said he would give his full commitment to the development of hockey in Asia, especially in promoting the sports to Asian countries that are new to hockey.
"Today is a new day for me in AHF, certainly I need some time to discuss with my exco members. When I made the decision to take up this position, it was to show I was ready to commit to AHF and also continue the legacy of the late Sultan Azlan Shah (previous AHF president)," he said.....
