COPENHAGEN, Aug 27 (Bernama) -- National doubles chief coach, Pang Cheh Chang said national badminton coaches frequently discuss with players before they are allowed to enter the court for any championship.
He said should a player be confirmed to have sustained injuries, the coach concerned would not force them to be in action to avoid aggravating the injuries.
Citing the example of back injury experienced by men's doubles player Goh V Shem, Pang said the player agreed to be fielded in the world championship taking place now even though he knew he has not fully recovered.
"After returning from the 2014 Commonwealth Games, I asked Goh on his injuries. Apart from that I also enquired about the condition of other players fortnightly.
"I will not gamble on the fate of any player in any tournament even though I have to take the risk as we have quite a tight schedule," he said when met by reporters here on Wednesday.....
