Cops Check Into M'sia Cup Quarterfinals Early

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 27 (Bernama) -- Police became the first team to book a berth in the Malaysia Cup quarterfinals after registering their fourth straight victory in Group D.

In tonight's match played at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium in Kuala Terengganu, the Cops gunned down T-Team 2-1 for their fourth win and topped Group D with 12 points.

Police import Ashfaq Ali struck a brace in the 19th and 86th minutes to ensure all three points for the Cops while T-Team import Jimmy Mulisa from Rwanda struck in the 50th minute.

At the Shah Alam Stadium, Sime Darby came from behind to upset Selangor 2-1 for their first win in Group D.

After a scoreless first half, Selangor took the lead through Hazwan Bakri's 62nd minute strike but Sime Darby staged a late fight back to score through Fahrulrazi Kamarudin (74th min) and Croatian import Mateo Roskam (81st min).....
