COPENHAGEN, Aug 26 (Bernama) -- Nerves got the better of Malaysia's women's singles player Sannatasah Saniru in her maiden BWF Badminton World Champion here.
The former national player who now represents the Public Service Department Badminton Club exited the prestigious championship in the very first round Monday after going down 18-21, 21-19 and 12-21 to Sarah Walker of England.
"I admit I was very nervous this being my debut at the World Championship and was not able to play my best...I am disappointed that I did not win," she told Bernama afterwards.
She said she would be competing in the 43rd RSL Czech International in the Czech Republic from Sept 25-28 next but was not setting any personal targets.
She also thanked her club for giving her the opportunity to compete at the highest level after quitting the BAM in 2013.....
