HULU TERENGGANU, Aug 25 (Bernama) -- About 212 local and foreign endurance motorcycle enthusiasts participated in the 2014 Kenyir Motocross Challenge organised by the Central Terengganu Development Authority (Ketengah) at Pengkalan Gawi Circuit, Tasik Kenyir here, which ended yesterday.
The two-day programme supported by the Terengganu government, the Office of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture (MOTAC) and Tourism Malaysia saw 22 participants from six countries, namely Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Austria, Australia and the United Kingdom taking part.
Ketengah Operations deputy general manager, Wan Abdul Rahman Ahmad said it was held for the 8th time, offering prizes worth RM64,000.
"The tournament initiated in 2004 was held once every two years but after 2007, it was held annually after getting an overwhelming response from endurance motorcycle enthusiasts .
"Last year, we only have 12 entries from participants from four countries, this year the number is increasing and in the coming years we are aiming for more participation," he told a press conference after the prize-giving ceremony for the Kenyir Motocross Challenge 2014.....
