NANJING, Aug 25 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian contingent continues the hunt for more medals on the ninth day of the 2014 Youth Olympic Games (YOG 2014) here.
Although the country's backup athletes have reached the three-medal target set by the head of the contingent, Wong Pei Tty, those competing Monday hope to get bonus medals.
Wong expressed his satisfaction over their effort despite their lack of experience in a world-class championships such as this.
"I am impressed by their spirit and all athletes have worked hard from the first day of the YOG 2014 until now," he told Bernama on Monday.
The National Sports Council (NSC) had not set any medal target for the competition as they considered the event held once every four years as a platform to expose new athletes before they go to a higher level.....
