COPENHAGEN, Aug 24 (Bernama) -- The 2014 BWF World Badminton Championships that start at the Ballerup Super Arena, here tomorrow will probably be the best opportunity for World number one Datuk Lee Chong Wei to clinch the elusive title, due to the absence of his nemesis and arch-rival Lin Dan of China.

Lin Dan, the defending champion who denied Chong Wei the Olympic gold medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and also the World title in 2011 and 2013, will not see action here.

Chong Wei, 31, having just recovered, though not fully, from a serious groin injury that he had suffered during the Indonesian Open Super Series, will however, have another rival in World number two Chen Long, also from China.

"I have not recovered 100 percent yet, but my target of winning the elusive world title for the first time hasn't changed. This will be my best opportunity and I am going to do my best," Chong Wei had said here earlier.

Chong Wei who lost to Lin Dan in the Beijing Olympic Games final in 2008, suffered another disappointment in London, England during the 2011 edition of the World Championships and was again at the losing end in Guangzhou, China when he had to withdraw after coming down with cramps with the score level 1-1.....
