China Continues To Lead YOG Medal Tally On Day 5

NANJING, Aug 21 (Bernama) -- China continued to dominate the collection of medals on the fifth day of the second Youth Olympic Games after garnering 12 gold, four silver and eight bronze medals.

Russia followed closely behind in second place as the main challenger to the host country with nine gold, six silver and five bronze medals.

Italy is still in the third spot with five gold, three silver and two bronze medals.

Southeast Asian powerhouse, Thailand improved its standing to 13th position after collecting two gold, one silver and two bronze medals.

The Malaysian contingent has yet to deliver any medal even though other southeast Asian countries like Vietnam and Singapore have won at least one medal.....
