KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 21 (Bernama) -- National squash queen and world number one player, Datuk Nicol David moved closer to clinching her ninth Malaysian Open title as she cruised into the semi-final of the tournament held at the Nu Sentral Mall in Brickfields, here Thursday night.
The top seed only took 38 minutes to overcome the seventh seed, Hong Kong's Annie Au with a 11-7, 12-10 and 11-4 win in the quarter-final match.
Nicol had clinched the Malaysian Open title eighth times -- 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2013.
"Earlier in my game, I was playing out the ball, looking at the way the ball bounces and to get the feel of the glass court.
"Annie played very well...I have to be very careful as she fought strong," said the 30-year-old.....
