KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 21 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's chances of making it past the group stages in the Asian Games will certainly be an uphill task after being drawn in Group A with host South Korea, Saudi Arabia and Laos.
The draw for the Incheon Asian Games football competition which starts in South Korea on Sept 14, featuring eight groups, was uploaded via Youtube by the organiser Thursday.
The top two teams from each group advance to the next stage.
The National Under-23 squad (Harimau Muda A) under coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee are currently in Australia to compete in the Queensland Premier League competition which started in March.
Since the 2002 edition in Busan, South Korea, teams are allowed to use three senior players in the competition that would be held at various stadiums, namely Incheon Munhak Stadium, Incheon Football Stadium, Namdong Asiad Rugby Field, Ansan Wa Stadium, Goyang Stadium and Hwaseong Stadium.....
