KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 18 (Bernama) -- The ongoing Selangor Menteri Besar crisis had no bearing on the Football Association of Selangor (FAS) election for office bearers when Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim retained his President's post unopposed.
The 64th FAS Annual Congress held at Kelab Shah Alam, near here today, saw Khalid who took over the helm from former Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Khir Toyo in 2010, retain the post.
In the election for the FAS executive council for 2014-2018, the post of Deputy President was also won by Datuk Abdul Mokhtar Ahmad without any contest while three of the four vice presidents also retained their posts without any opposition, namely Datuk Emran Kadir, Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal and K. Palanisamy.
However, the fourth vice president's post held by chief-secretary of the Federal Territories Ministry, Datuk Adnan Md Ikhsan, was filled by Datuk Samin Sarmin after the former decided to step down.
Six new faces that made it to the executive committee together with seven who were retained were Omar Ali, Noor Hisham Mohd Ghouth, Ariffin Hamid, Datuk P. Sugumaran, Abd Rauf Ahmad and Adanan Sariff.....
