Police Clinch Big Win In Malaysia Cup Opening Match

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 (Bernama) -- Premier League champions, Royal Malaysia Police (Police) served up an easy 3-0 win over Sime Darby FC in the 2014 Malaysia Cup Group D opening match at the Selayang Stadium Thursday night.

The win put police on top of group D with three points, pushing Selangor to the second place with a better goal difference.

Selangor defeated T-Team 2-1 in another group D match at Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium, Kuala Terengganu, yesterday.

In the match tonight, Police's imported striker from Maldives, Ali Ashfaq opened scoring in the 14th minute before Bobby Gonzales added another goal in the 35th minute.

Ashfaq was once again on target when he scored his second goal of the match in the 48th minute to deliver Police three full points.....
