NANJING, Aug 14 (Bernama) -- The Youth Olympic Games (YOG) which officially opens its doors for competition on Monday will be the best platform for back up squad athletes to prepare for the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.
Head of the Malaysian contingent, Wong Pei Tty, a former shuttler said junior athletes who form the back up squad must work hard to prove their worth in the games although there was no specific target set for them.
Wong said athletes should not be afraid of the opposition.
The Youth and Sports Ministry, National Sports Council and the Olympic Council of Malaysia did not set any specific target for the Malaysian contingent.
Wong who formed one half of the country's women's doubles team during her playing days said she was confident shuttlers and the diving squad would be able to contribute medals at the YOG.....
