KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 (Bernama) -- National hockey coach Muhammad Dharma Raj Abdullah has been 'rested' temporarily and National Junior coach Arul Selvaraj has been given the task to manage the squad.
Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) President Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah told reporters after chairing a MHC emergency meeting Monday that Selvaraj would take charge until a new coach was appointed.
Tengku Abdullah said the fate of Dharma Raj would be decided by the National Sports Council (NSC), soon.
"Arul Selvaraj will take charge of the team that plays in the Incheon Asian Games in South Korea next month. He (Arul) will be assisted by former National coach Tai Beng Hai as the high performance coach and team manager for the Asian Games," said Tengku Abdullah in Kuala Lumpur.
Tengku Abdullah thanked Dharma Raj for his contributions and sacrifices to the National team and admitted that the poor performance of the National squad was partly due to the sudden departure of former National coach Paul Revington.....
