KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 8 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Karate Federation (Makaf) is targeting a modest one gold medal in its outing at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea scheduled from Sept 18 to Oct 27.
Makaf president Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam said the target is reasonable as karate has been contributing one gold to the national contingent.
"I hope our athletes will do their best to deliver as many medals as possible ...at least one gold in Incheon," he told reporters after attending the opening of the 14th Asian Karate Championships here today.
The three-day tournament was officiated by Works Minister Datuk Fadhillah Yusof.
Meanwhile, Mohd Ali said Malaysia has succeeded in organising this Asian level championship which secured the participation of 32 Asian countries.....
