KLUANG, Aug 8 (Bernama) -- Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaludin wants the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) and national badminton head coach Rashid Sidek to find an amicable solution to their squabble.
Khairy said the cold war between BAM president Tan Sri Tengku Mahaleel Tengku Ariff and Rashid should be resolved without further media publicity.
"I am calling on BAM and Rashid to stop the war in the media as they are in one organisation. If one is not satisfied, call for a face-to-face meeting. There is no need to debate in the media, contact Rashid and talk to him," he told reporters after opening Kluang Umno delegates' conference here today.
Khairy said presently BAM needed a technical director to separate the roles of coaching and those in other divisions for the development of badminton.
He said the absence of a technical director is believed to have contributed to the shortcomings of the badminton body.....
