KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 7 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) defender K. Reuben hopes to recover from an injury to his left knee, latest by the middle of the 2014 Malaysia Cup competition scheduled to begin on Aug 13.

He admitted that he had to recover fast to ensure his place in the Harimau Malaya squad was assured, seeing they would be taking part in the 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup Football Championship on Nov 22-Dec 20 in Singapore and Vietnam.

"I know the national squad's chief coach (Dollah Salleh) will only pick the best players for the championship.

"As such, it is important that I am in action in the Malaysia Cup to raise my chances of playing in the AFF Cup," he said when met by reporters after the launch of the new Puma tagline, 'Forever faster' here Thursday.

Reuben clarified that he was undergoing rehabilitation at the National Sports Institute (ISN) after a surgery on his left knee which prevented him from carrying out heavy activities.....
