JOHOR BAHARU, Aug 7 (Bernama) - The Johor Football Association (PBNJ) has confirmed it will not sign up former Chelsea player, Samuel Eto'O.
The confirmation simultaneously quashed rumours claiming the former Cameroon national striker would don the jersey of the Harimau Selatan next season.
PBNJ president Johor Regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim said the association had to forget its aspiration to sign up Eto'O, the four-time Best African Player, based on age factor.
He said Eto'O, 33, was not suitable for Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) due to PBNJ's new policy of only recruiting young import players for next season.
"Prior to this we did discuss to get the service of Samuel Eto'O and he has also showed keeness to come to Johor.....
