KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 5 (Bernama) -- Malaysia will host the inaugural Asean Football Federation (AFF) Beach Soccer Championship in Kuantan, Pahang in October, this year.
The announcement was made during the 12th AFF Council Meeting for the 2011-2015 session, chaired by AFF President Sultan Ahmad Shah in Hanoi, Vietnam, Tuesday.
Seven teams have confirmed their participation in the inaugural tournament, namely Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Indonesia, Laos, Vietnam and the Philippines.
In his opening speech, Sultan Ahmad Shah commented on the draw and said it would be an exciting event.
"I'm anticipating an exciting draw and would like to wish the participating teams all the best," he was quoted in the AFF website; www.aseanfootball.org.....
