Adam Faroze Gets RM15,000 Sponsorship From PBAPP

GEORGE TOWN, Aug 4 (Bernama) -- Leading Malaysian mountain biker, Adam Faroze today received a boost from the Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) pursue his cycling interest.

In a ceremony, 26-year-old Adam was presented a cheque for RM15,000 as PBAPP sponsorship by its chairman and state Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.

"I hope to become a good model to the younger Penang residents and generate interest in mountain biking," said the downhill mountain bike champion.

The sponsorship is to help cover Adam Faroze's expenditure in six races this season including Malaysian National Championships/2014, Asean MTB Cup Second Series in Sabah on Aug 15 to 17; Japan National Series J1 Winghills on Sept 26 and 27; and the Asia Pacific Downhill Challenge in Bali, Indonesia on Nov 7.

The semi-professional mountain biker has toured the country and abroad, winning three races in May, namely the MTB Kenyir Terengganu Challenge; Western Australia State Downhill Race Third Series in Perth, Australia (Senior category); and Kiara Downhill Domination in Kuala Lumpur.....
