GLASGOW, Aug 4 (Bernama) -- Malaysian road cyclists Loh Sea Kong and Mohd Fauzan Ahmad Lutfi failed to complete the 168.2km race due to technical and uncertain weather conditions.

The road race held in the vicinity of the Glasgow City Centre started in extremely cold and windy weather conditions and heavy rain.

Weather conditions aside, Sea Kong was involved in an accident while Mohd Fauzan suffered a punctured tyre in the midst of the competition, team manager Datuk Amarjit Singh Gill told Bernama.

Amarjit said Sea Kong met with an accident after lap 5 of the race and suffered injuries to his leg while the gear of his cycle was broken while a tyre puncture and the delay in the arrival of the 'neutral service' caused valuable time.

"Since Malaysia had only two riders, the organisers did not provide a designated service car to accompany the riders. We therefore had to depend on the 'neutral service'," he said.....
