GLASGOW, Aug 3 (Bernama) -- The badminton squad's hopes of adding three bronze medals evaporated at the Emirates Arena when Tee Jing Yi (women's singles), mixed doubles pair of Chan Peng Soon/Lai Pei Jing and women's doubles pair Lim Yin Loo/Pei JIng lost their respective matches.
In the playoff for the women's singles bronze medal, PV Sindhu from India beat Tee Jing Yi 23-21, 21-9 while Robert Blair/Imogen Bankier from the host country defeated Chan Peng Soon/Lai Pei Jing 21-17, 21-11 in the decider for the bronze medal.
Pei Jing-Yin Loo lost their match against Gabriel Adcock/Lauren Smith from England 21-16, 15-21 and 16-21.
According to Pei Jing she was tired since she had to play four matches today.
"I could not understand why the semifinals and the playoff for third placing was held on the same day. In the end I had only a two-hour rest before continuing to play another match," she said.....
