KUALA TERENGGANU, July 21 (Bernama) -- The Terengganu state government is targetting 10,000 participants for the Terengganu International Bridge Run, to be held on Sept 27.
State Youth, Sports and Human Resource committee chairman Rozi Mamat said the organisers were expecting a 2,000 increase in participants compared with 8,000 who took part last year.
Rozi said the run would feature 12 categories and open to local and foreign participants, including students from higher learning institutions, school children and people with special needs (OKU).
"This year we are confident of attracting 10,000 participants, including runners from Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and South Africa. Organising an international event will also attract more tourists to the state," he said after launching the new logo for the 2014 Sultan Mahmud Bridge Run at a leading hotel here today.
He said the closing date for entries in the run that offers total prize money of RM300,000 has been set as Aug 28.....
