KUALA LUMPUR, July 21 (Bernama) -- Malaysian professional women golfer, Kelly Tan put up a fantastic performance to finish tied fourth in the LPGA Marathon Classic Championship on Sunday at the Highland Meadows Golf Club Sylvania, Ohio in the United States. surprise
The 21-year old petite golfer fired a four-under 67 in the final round to close with a four-round score of 11-under 273 and finish tied fourth with two other golfers -- Katherine Kirk of Australia and South African Lee-Anne Pace.
All three golfers pocketed US$59,015 (RM187,207) for their feat.
"With this finish, I think I'm going to be pretty happy going into the next few events," Tan was quoted in the LPGA website;www.lpga.com. I knew that I need the fourth (birdie), but I don't know what happened there.
"I think adrenaline. You know, I just hit and land over and I have a tough chip. Disappointing, of course, it's not a pretty finish as I wanted to, but I played great all week," she added.
New Zealand's 17-year-old teenage sensation, Lydia Ko who is also the world number two, clinched the title after carding a six-under 65 on the final day, to emerge victorious with a four-day score of 15-under 269.....
