KOTA BAHARU, July 20 (Bernama) -- The Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) will tighten its selection criteria for foreign players following a below par performance by those signed this season.
KAFA advisor Tan Sri Annuar Musa said apart from the health and ability of the players, fitness of the players would also be given priority.
"We do not want a repeat of last season's mistake when we signed Ghana's Prince Tagoe," he told reporters here today adding that would ensure players selected do not carry injuries or have been out of action for a long time.
"We have identified a number of foreign players, including a player who had played form his country in the just concluded World Cup in Brazil," he said.
Kelantan finished sixth in the Super League competition and also failed to retain the FA Cup after losing to Felda United despite the presence of Tagoe, Iran's Hussein Ala Salman, Egypt's Mohamed Shawky Aly Mohamed and Liberian Francis Forkey Doe.....
