JOHOR BAHARU, June 25 (Bernama) -- The Johor state government declared tomorrow (Thursday) as a state holiday to commemorate Johor Darul Ta'zim's (JDT) success in winning the Super League title after beating Sarawak 1-0, tonight.
The announcement was made by State secretary Datuk Ismail Karim after watching JDT beat Sarawak 1-0 at the State Stadium in Kuching.
"Johor has won the title after 24 years. For 24 years we did not win any trophy, so this is to show our appreciation to the people of Johor," he said.
According to Ismail, the decision to declare the holiday was made by the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.
