KUALA TERENGGANU, June 11 (Bernama) -- Terengganu head coach Abdul Rahman Ibrahim took his players to task for lack of discipline and professionalism on the field throughout the 90 minutes of play.
The former National coach who was clearly disappointed with the 1-4 defeat to 10-man Selangor on home turf last night said the lack of discipline and professionalism will hamper Terengganu from going 'far' in the Super League.
Abdul Rahman said when Terengganu were trailing 1-2 in the second half, his players were too eager to equalise and lost focus, allowing gaps in defence, that was well exploited by Selangor who caught the defenders napping during their counter attacks and score two quick goals in the 88th and 90 minutes despite playing with 10-man.
"Due to the defeat, we lost three valuable points at home. The lost points will cost us dear to mount a serious challenge for the top spot in the league. It was due to lack of discipline and professionalism," he told reporters after the 1-4 defeat at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium, here Tuesday night.
Terengganu are currently in third spot behind Selangor and JDT with 31 points from 18 matches while Selangor has (37 points) and JDT are second with 35 points.....
