SEPANG, June 8 (Bernama) -- PATA Honda World Superbike Team rider, Michael van de Mark rode his way to a third victory of the Supersports 600cc category in round six of the 2014 eni FIM Superbike World Championship held at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC), here, today.
The 21-year-old Dutchman clocked 30 minutes: 23.854 seconds in the 14-lap race while setting the fastest time in the eighth lap with 2 minutes:09.417 seconds.
It was much sweeter for the Rotterdam-native as the victory ensured him to continue to top the championship standings with 115 points after completing the sixth leg out of 14 legs of the race.
Van de Mark tasted his first victory in round three at the Assen Circuit in his home soil on April 27, before repeating the feat in the round at the Donington Park Circuit, last month.
Following him closely was French rider Jules Cluzel of MV Augusta RC-Yakhnich Motorsports who trailed by just a mere 0.018 seconds while Turkish rider, Kenan Sofuoglu had to settle in third place, adrift by 4.526 seconds behind Cluzel.....
