Ex-National Bowler Win's Youth Open Boys' Title In S'pore International Open

KUALA LUMPUR, June 5 (Bernama) -- Former national youth kegler, Syaffique Ikhwan blazed the lanes at the Orchid Bowl in Singapore to clinch the Youth Boys' Open title in the 47th Singapore International Open, Thursday.

The 19-year old southpaw blazed the lanes with lines of 244, 247, 235, 247, 204, 284, 186 and 226 for an overall 1,873 pinfalls, defeating Muhd Daniel Zheng Yi from the host nation by a mere 13 pins.

Cheng Hsing Yuen of Chinese Taipei finished third with 1,837 pinfalls, said the Malaysian Tenpin Bowling Congress (MTBC) in a statement issued, Thursday.

Three other Malaysians -- Kua Jian Zheng (1,701); Wan Syahmi Razin Wan Rohadi (1,616) and Yong Zhao De(1,587) completed the eight-frame tournament in 10th, 18th and 20th position, respectively.
