Last update: 02/06/2014

KANGAR, June 2 (Bernama) -- The Perak hockey squad today ended their 22-year wait to enter the Malaysia Games (Sukma) hockey final.

They will be meeting Negeri Sembilan in the final tomorrow.

The last time Perak won a gold medal in men's hockey was during the Johor Sukma in 1992.

The squad coached by Mohd Nizam Mohd Hashim did not find it easy to get into the final after the semifinal tie ended in a 2-2 draw against Penang at the Hockey Field, Tuanku Syed Putra Sports Complex here.

The match had to be decided by a penalty shootout which saw Perak win 4-3.....
