ALOR SETAR, June 2 (Bernama) -- Premier League leaders Police gunned down Perlis 3-2 at the Darul Aman Stadium today to maintain top spot and stay unbeaten.

The slim victory was enough for the cops to open up a six point gap at the top with 43 points against Felda United's 37 points while Penang are third in the table with 36.

The victory today also meant that Police kept the rest of the chasing pack at a safe distance in its quest to win the Premier League title for the first time.

Police were handed the lead on a silver platter a minute before the break when Perlis skipper Mohd Khairi Zainuddin headed into his own goal while trying to clear the danger.

The start of the second half saw Police pile on the pressure and were rewarded quickly when their import Charles Souza scored the first of his brace in the 49th minute before adding the second in the 65th minute.....
