Slyvester Gaing Aspires To Make A Comeback To The National Back Up Squad

KANGAR, June 1 (Bernama) -- Sarawak's double gold medallist in the 17th Perlis SUKMA diving events, Slyvester Gaing Peter Jawa, aspires to make a comeback to the National back up squad.

Slyvester Gaing, 17, who was roped into the National back up squad in January, had to forego the chance due to personal problems.

However, the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tebuan Jaya, Kuching student who will be sitting for his Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination, hopes to accept the call to join the back up squad.

"I want to be like National diver Bryan Nickson Lomas and will chase my dream after the SPM. I want to make it to the back up squad," he told reporters at the aquatic complex, here today.

Slyvester Gaing won the men's 10m Platform gold and the 3m Springboard Synchronized diving gold with his partner Carlyse Chan Wee Chiek.....
