KANGAR, June 1 (Bernama) -- Pahang's National back up shooter Siau Cuili shot down a long standing SUKMA record to win the women's 10m Air Pistol gold medal at the Sg. Batu Pahat Shooting Range, here today.

Cuili, 20, smashed the 14-year-old record of 375 points held by Federal Territory shooter Siti Sarah Mohd Ibrahim since the 2000 edition that was hosted by Penang, with a new score of 380 points.

Selangor's Nur Zunairah Zakaria gunned down 370 points to take the silver while Nurul Aina Fatihah Baharudin from the Federal Territories won the bronze after gunning down 368 points.

"I am happy with the performance because the 380 points was my new personal best because my previous best was 377 points. I certainly did not expect to beat the SUKMA record," said the National back up squad shooter from, Ipoh, Perak.

Cuili is among National back up squad shooters who have managed to earn a slot for the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games in Scotland after a fine performance at the Tun Tan Siew Sin Trophy held at the National Shooting Range in Subang early this year.....
