ARAU, May 31 (Bernama) -- Sarawak taekwondo exponents Saturday raked in two of the four gold medals at stake on the opening day of the sport at the 17th Malaysia Games (Sukma).
Held at the Perlis Matriculation College here, Sarawak's first taekwondo gold medal was delivered by Marena Tee Zulariffin in the women's middleweight (67-73kg) category.
She defeated Thava Kumarisat of Terengganu 8-1.
"The score may look impressive but it was a tough fight. But I am happy to realise my dream of clinching the gold medal this time," she said when met by Bernama.
According to the 21-year-old athlete from Kuching, she could only muster a silver medal in the Pahang Sukma in 2012.....
