Grandmother's Presence Gives Nur Dhabitah Added Confidence To Sweep Two Diving Gold Medals

KANGAR, May 31 (Bernama) -- The presence of her grandmother provided an added inspiration for national diver Nur Dhabitah Sabri to sweep both the women's 3m Springboard and 10m Platform Synchronized diving gold medals today.

Nur Dhabitah, 15, dominated the proceedings on the third day of diving competitions at the Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Sports Complex to add the 3m Springboard gold after having won the 10m Platform Synchronized gold medal with Loh Zhiayi.

"My grandmother follows me for every local competition and gives me added confidence and support. I have won numerous medals in her presence," said Nur Dhabitah of her grandmother, Che Dara Daud, 88.

In the 3m Springboard, Nur Dhabitah from Federal Territories scored 298.90 points to beat Selangor's Adeline Chin Wei Ling who managed 244.65 while Jasmine Lai Pui Yee from Perak took the bronze with 223.65 points.

For the 10m platform, Nur Dhabitah/Loh scored 261.78 points to beat Kimberly Bong Qian Ding/Tracia Irene Anak Erik from Sarawak (193.38) while Lim Min/Erica Pan Ying Xin (157.86) won the bronze.....
