SINGAPORE, May 27 (Bernama) -- The Sepang International Circuit (SIC) will be offering special paddock excess passes for $220 (RM550) to attract more Singaporean motorsport fans to Sepang for the World Superbike Championship (WSBK) from June 6 to 8.
After 22 years, the WSC is coming back to Malaysia with SIC hosting the only leg held in Asia throughout the 14-round championship.
Driven by the noble agenda to take nation's sports of motorcycling to a new level, SIC, which also hosts the FIM MotoGP World Championship, believes it was now timely for Malaysia to have the world's two biggest events together in Malaysia.
This is to inject bigger interest in the sports and generate stronger interest amongst Malaysians to compete in World Class Championships.
Speaking at a press conference here Tuesday, SIC chief executive officer Datuk Razlan Razali said: "SIC aims to make WSBK, which is making a return to Malaysia after 1992, as successful as hosting the Formula One Petronas Grand Prix and the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix."
"For the WSBK event, we are offering special paddock excess passes for $220 (RM550) which will provide access to the paddock shows and interactive games, official WSBK merchandise as well as getting close to the riders.....
