PETALING JAYA, May 27 (Bernama) -- The country's fifth ranked amateur golfer Low Khai Jei shared the lead with two others in the first day of 27th Multi-Purpose Insurance (MPI) Saujana Amateur Championship in Saujana Golf and Country Club here, Tuesday.

The 18-year old carded a three-under-69 to tie the scores posed by Thailand's Danthai Boonma and Chieh-Po Lee from Taiwan.

Khai Jei said he was satisfied with his game because he managed to hit the greens in regulation play and notched up birdies at holes six and seven before finishing the day bogey-free.

"I was hitting it very good, making a lot of greens in regulation. I missed a few short birdie putts but then I sank some long ones too. I must admit that I had a bit of home ground advantage," Khai Jei told reporters here.

Meanwhile, Boonma, handicap 4 carded five birdies but offset by a couple of bogeys.....
