KANGAR, May 25 (Bernama) -- The Amateur Swimming Union of Malaysia (ASUM) are expected to decide whether the aquatic centre in Perlis can host swimming and diving events for the SUKMA in Perlis or if events would be shifted to the Gunung Keriang Aquatic Centre in Alor Setar.
ASUM secretary-general David Chung said the time was running out and the union were not convinced that the contractor would be able to complete the facilities and venue according to the specifications required.
"We want the swimming pool to be safe for participants and ensure times set during the competition can be accepted and rectified by the international body," he told reporters, here Sunday.
He was met after visiting and inspecting the aquatic centre with Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim, today.
Chung said ASUM would convene a meeting tonight to make a decision on the aquatic centre because the diving pool was not suitable because the water was not clear.....
