Khoo Cai Lin, Amirrul Hafiz Crowned MASISWA Sportsman, Sportswoman Of 2013

PUTRAJAYA, May 23 (Bernama) -- National swimmer Khoo Cai Lin was crowned Sportswoman of 2013 by the Private Higher Educational Institutions Sports Council (MASISWA) Friday.

Cai Lin, who won a gold and a silver at the Myanmar SEA Games last year, said she was deeply honoured to be conferred the award.

A second year student at Taylor's University, Cai Lin is now waiting for a decision on whether she has qualfied to compete in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland in July.

"I have not been officially notified whether I have qualified for the Commonwealth Games or not but at the same time I am undergoing training in preparation for the Asian Games and also the Asian University Games later this year," she told reporters after receiving the award from Deputy Education Minister P. Kamalanathan at the Za'aba Hall, Education Ministry here.

Meanwhile, the MASISWA Sportsman of Year Award 2013 went to Amirrul Hafiz Zahiruddin, a woodball player from International College of Automotive (ICAM).....
