KOTA SAMARAHAN, May 20 (Bernama) -- The "Agi Idup Agi Ngelaban" will continue to be the Sarawak contingent's battle cry for the SUKMA in Perlis from May 24 to June 5.
Sarawak deputy chef-de-mission Affandi Keli said the battle cry would spur the athletes' spirit to perform their best at the Games in trying to achieve its target of winning at least 55 gold medals.
He said although Sarawak's target was to win 55 gold medals and to finish among top three teams in this year's SUKMA, he believed Sarawak could surpass the gold medal target and even finish as overall champion for the fourth time.
"With the high fighting spirit and determination of our athletes, I believe we can surpass the 55-gold target and emerge as the overall champion," said Affandi at the opening of the Sarawak contingent's centralised camp, here Tuesday.
Sarawak will be sending a strong contingent of 520 members, including 362 athletes who will be taking part in 22 of the 24 sports contested.....
