JOHOR BAHARU, May 18 (Bernama) -- Johor is targeting 20 gold medals in 24 sport events at the 17th Malaysia Games (Sukma) in Perlis, between May 24 and June 4.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said the state government was confident the athletes would achieve the objective and improve their position to bring honour to the state.
At the 2012 Sukma Games in Pahang, the Johor contingent bagged 18 gold medals.
Mohamed Khaled said the events targeted for gold medals in the coming Sukma Games were swimming, badminton, shooting, lawn bowl, athletics, pencak silat, sailing, canoeing, tenpin bowling, cycling, archery, boxing, petanque and taekwondo.
He said this at a ceremony to present the Johor flag to the state contingent here Sunday.....
