PUTRAJAYA, May 17 (Bernama) -- French pilot Francois Le Vot continues top form to lead the Challenger Cup after claiming his third consecutive win at the 2014 Air Race Red Bull World Championship at Putrajaya Lake here today.
The Frenchman crossed the finish line with a time of one minute 26.027 seconds over 0.823 seconds in front of runner-up Petr Kopfstein of Czech Republic, while Daniel Ryfa of Sweden settled for third position after clocking 1:27.081s.
Le Vot claimed his first victory at the 2014 season opener in Abu Dhabi in March and at the second race in Rovinj, Croatia last month.
With the win, Le Vot, 44, is now leading with 30 points ahead of Ryfa (14 points) and Kopfstein (12 points).
"Definitely, it was the most difficult in terms of track, but it was the perfect missing link between Abu Dhabi (first race) and Rovinj (second race)," he told a press conference after the race.....
