Hot Weather To Be A Major Challenge In 2014 Putrajaya Red Bull Air Race

PUTRAJAYA, May 15 (Bernama) -- The abnormal hot weather currently will pose an extra challenge to all participants at the 2014 Red Bull Air Race World Championship 2014 on Saturday.

The nation's sole flyer in the race, Datuk Halim Othman said the extreme hot situation which rarely took place would also disturb the concentration of all the pilots especially those not familiar with the weather conditions in the country.

"The hot weather will drastically increase the temperature of the engines and cockpits and the pilots will become tired quickly and easily lose their focus," he said when met by reporters at the launching of the runway for the championship in Precinct 5 here, Thursday.

According to Halim, the pilots must drink large quantities of water to avoid dehydration in the current hot weather.

Halim, who was undergoing official training at the runway, said the extremely hot weather today also affected the 10 participants who were undergoing the training session.....
