KUALA LUMPUR, May 12 (Bernama) -- Former German international Gert Engels has emerged as a likely candidate to replace the post of National coach that remains vacant since Datuk K. Rajagobal's departure.
The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) vice president Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal today confirmed that the former Mozambique national team coach was being interviewed for the post, together with a number of others.
"We have interviewed a number of candidates...for example Gert Engels from Germany. We will call for a press conference in June to introduce the new coach.
"There are three or four names but we will have to wait till June to know if the candidate is a local or foreigner," he told reporters after attending a FAM-FIFA coaching workshop, here today, adding that there would be a clearer picture after the FAM Congress on May 25.
Media reports had highlighted a number of big names for the post that has remained vacant since Rajagobal's contract expired on Dec 31, 2013.....
