Syimir Leads Men's Open Masters First Block

PETALING JAYA, May 9 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's national bowler, Syimir Abdul Razak blazed his way to the lead in the Men's Open Masters first block of the 37th Malaysian International Open held at the Sunway Mega Lanes, here today.

The 21-year-old Syimir knocked down lines of 241, 247, 227, 246, 207, 245, 232 and 215 for a total of 1,860 pins.

Trailing him 12 pins adrift was his team mate Adrian Ang while another national elite bowler, Timmy Tan is in third position with 1,800 pinfalls.

"It was tough. I managed to stay calm and focus on each game.

"Of course defending the title comes with added pressure but I hope it will spur me to do well in the tournament," the defending champion told Bernama.....
