KUALA LUMPUR, May 9 (Bernama) -- National swimmer, Lim Ching Hwang is optimistic of garnering a medal at the Junior Olympic Games in Nanjing, China, from Aug 16 to 28.
Ching Hwang who will be taking part in the 100m and 200m freestyle as well as the 200m individual medley in Nanjing, said he would not be complacent with his current performance and needed to practise harder for better consistence.
At the ongoing 57th Malaysian Open Swimming championship at the National Aquatics Centre in Bukit Jalil, Ching Hwang representing Kuala Lumpur grabbed a ticket to the 2015 FINA World Aquatic championship in Kazan, Russia for the 200m freestyle after clinching the gold medal in the event in 1 minute 50.63 seconds.
Also qualifying for the world championship was silver medallist, Kevin Yeap in 1:51.17 seconds. Danny Yeo of Singapore won the bronze in 1:51.62 seconds.
Another swimmer, Vernon Lee who was placed fourth also qualify for the world championship in 1:52.02 seconds surpassing the B category qualifying time of 1:52.16 seconds.....
