Election For President's Post Not A 'Sandiwara' - Tengku Abdullah

RAUB, May 6 (Bernama) -- The election for the post of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) President which involves three royalties, and described as the 'Mother of All Elections in local football terms' will not be a sandiwara says FAM Deputy President Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.

The FAM Congress on May 25 which features a titanic three-cornered battle among incumbent President Sultan Ahmad Shah (Sultan of Pahang), Tengku Abdullah who is the FAM Deputy President and Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim (Johor FA President) will be held according to the regulations of the FAM constitution.

The post of FAM President will be decided by the 39 affiliates and held under the guidelines of the FAM.

"The Congress is not about the election of President but rather an election for all posts," said Tengku Abdullah.

Asked what would be his next course of action if he failed to win the post of President, Tengku Abdullah quipped "if unsuccessful, close shop".....
